Very close to both Cathedral Square and Armas Square, the old mansion of Marquises of Prado Ameno appears again, showing its splendour as in the old times.
Properly located, just few meters from Obispo Street, the main artery of the historical centre, the large house with its colonial style, recreates the typical Cuban aristocratic house of beginning of XIX century.
In this house the famous black poet Juan Francisco Manzano, served as slave to the Marquises of Prado Ameno family and gained its freedom thanks to the negotiations of several personalities of the time, like Domingo del Monte and Jose de la Luz y Caballeros.
