Cuba - a Caribbean island with Latin passion
An exclusive 12 day tour for the more discerning premium
traveller to experience the island’s highlights; staying at quality
hotels with a personal driver and tour guide service to make your
sojourn a memorable experience.
With so many crises in the world Cuba still remains one of the safest and
unique destinations to visit and has the tranquillity unspoiled by
commercialism and mass tourism.
Your sojourn begins by being met by your tour guide and transferred
from the airport in a classic 50’s American car to the NH Parque Central
Hotel in Havana. Your tour guide will orientate you and show you the
main sites of this marvelous city including visiting a renowned cigar
factory. (Optional excursion ideas: a night under the stars at the famous
Tropicana Cabaret, or an evening of Salsa music and dancing). [Day 1 –
Day 3].
Havana is seen as one of the world’s fashionable cities and is a long-lost
sibling to the French Quarter in New Orleans, only with bigger cathedrals,
idyllic European plazas, the iconic images of Fidel Castro, Che Guevara
and Ernest Hemingway. The city is an historical marvel with a lively
street life and vibrant nightlife.
Your tour proceeds to the rural natural beauty of West Cuba, passing
tobacco plantations ploughed by oxen and the curing barns, to see the
Vinales Valley and its hay stack mountains (Mogotes); with lunch at
the Indian Cave. Las Terrazas will be your next stop, a unique eco
mountain community staying at the La Moka Hotel. Excursions will
include visiting the Saroa Orchid Garden, the San Juan River. Lunch at a
rustic restaurant. (Optional dining ideas: the Farmers Restaurant that
specialises in sucking pig and chicken roasted on charcoal or Romeo’s
eco vegetarian restaurant). [Day 4 – Day 5].
The journey then takes you to the South coast visiting the Bay of Pigs,
Playa Larga and Playa Giron. On route take a dip in a small natural
sunken cave swimming pool where tropical fish share the experience
with you (Cueva de los Peces). Lunch at the Pio Cua Restaurant. Spend
a day and night at the French colonial city of Cienfuegos, like Havana a
UNESCO World Heritage Site with its own unique architecture and local
music inspired by Benny More. Overnight at the La Union Hotel. [Day 6].
Trinidad is your next port of call, one the oldest cities in Cuba relatively unchanged since Spanish colonial
times with cobbled streets plied by horseback riders and multi coloured pastel shaded casas. The city is
overlooked by the Topes de Collantes Mountain with forest treks, rivers and waterfalls. Trinidad also sports
the Ancon beach resort. Lots of interesting places to visit just by walking around this historic city. Lunch at a
colonial restaurant. Try the local specialty cocktail at the Canchanchara Bar and an evening sitting on the
Cathedral steps listening to a local Cuban band. Accommodation at the Iberostar Hotel. [Day 7 – Day 8].
After leaving Trinidad travel to Santa Clara to visit the Che Guevara Museum and Mausoleum. The last few
days relax at the Royal Hideaway Hotel. This stunning all inclusive beach resort hotel resort is located on the
unspoiled Cayo Ensenachos on the North Coast of Cuba. The property, set in an area of natural beauty,
boasts two of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Cuba, secluded, powder white sands stretching more
than 1.62 miles in length with shallow azul turquoise tranquil waters. It has the true feeling of a paradise
island. [Day 9 – Day 12].
The tour itinerary is designed for two persons with an element of flexibility to make small changes where
feasible. Breakfast is included at hotels four lunches on route as indicated. The Royal Hideaway Hotel is all
